A Conversation with

Laura Segedin

Laura Segedin is a New Zealand fashion blogger with a decades experience working in the fashion industry as both a model, and fashion editor at Remix Magazine.

Laura, now mother to one year old son Myler, has taken on a freelance career in the creative world while juggling motherhood. As the model and creative director, Laura captured some beautiful imagery of a few of our new season pieces.

What made you get into photography?

"I have always loved shooting, always having a camera In hand. I actually studied photography at Whitecliffe. I just began shooting and built myself a portfolio and then began getting noticed and started booking clients and landed my job as fashion Editor at Remix Magazine".

What do you love about what you do?

I love that each job is so different, I love working with creatives and learning from them. Everyone I have ever worked with is so different in their unique way with how they tackle a project which I love. No creative thinks the same and the diversity of this I really thrive off. You learn so much.

What was the idea behind this shoot?

I have always loved the west coast and its beautiful colours. Long tussock grass and the dark toned sand. I thought the colour palette alongside Mina pieces would work well together.

You seem like you are a big supporter of NZ brands?

I love supporting kiwis! I think we are so fortunate to have some amazing talent here in New Zealand and I'm all for it!
